Colostrum is the first milk of mammals after the birth of the offspring. Colostrum contains all the components that help a newborn animal through the first life phase. Most components in colostrum also contribute to the health of older animals.
Colostrum contains a large number of active components that strongly contribute to (intestinal) health. We collect the colostrum ourselves and process it into powder. When the powder is mixed with water, the components become active, making them beneficial for your animal. Colostrum from cows is generically applicable. This means it can be used for all mammals.
Our products are made from bovine colostrum in powder form and are enriched with a prebiotic. We collect the colostrum ourselves from dairy farmers. Through our collection program, we travel throughout the Netherlands to collect colostrum from the first milking.
We only collect excess colostrum. The calf always comes first because it needs the colostrum urgently. The leftover colostrum is collected and analyzed for quality. The results of this quality analysis are shared with the dairy farmer. This way, a dairy farmer always knows what kind of colostrum is going to the calf. If the colostrum consistently proves to be of low quality, discussions are held with the veterinarian and feed advisor to determine how the colostrum quality on the dairy farm can be improved.

Colostrum is what a mammal needs when it is born. Some young animals do not receive or receive too little antibodies through the placenta. Colostrum normally comes from the mother animal. Sometimes colostrum is not available or the quality is too low. In such cases, the newborn receives insufficient (maternal) resistance, making it more susceptible to viruses and bacteria.
If colostrum is in low quantity or unavailable, you can enrich or completely replace it with Col-O-Dog, Col-O-Cat, or Col-O-Horse.
